Ivar T. Holth established his silversmithing workshop in Oslo, Norway in the 1940s. Producing fine, enamelled jewellery until the 2000s, this celebrated Norwegian silversmith continues to sell consistently well at auction and add a much needed splash of colour to jewellery boxes! Creating kaleidoscopic and colourful bracelets, brooches, earrings, necklaces, and pendants in a range of timeless and wearable designs, Holth's work attracts interest from seasoned collectors as well as those buying to wear and enjoy.
With designs including intricately detailed panel bracelets with hand painted floral motifs or enticing scenery, floral and foliate brooches, swirling ribbons, ships, butterflies, fans and starfish, Holth's output is varied and appeals to a wide audience.
Ever popular at auction owing to its wonderful bright hues and wearability, Ivar T Holth's work sells well - in particular matching suites of jewellery, unusual designs, rare colourways, and of course pieces with the enamelwork still in good condition.
